the JOURNEY TO GLISSARE

Hi friends! I'm Maggie, yoga teacher and harpist behind Glissare. I began playing the harp over 17 years ago and pursued my passion at the University of Louisville, where I studied harp performance and music therapy. However, the stress of college life and hours of practicing led to tendinitis in both wrists my freshman year. Unable to continue, I switched paths, transferred schools, and got a corporate job in Chicago.

The stress of my new career and life stage led to chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. While yoga had been a casual hobby, it became a vital ritual in my life as I sought healing. At the encouragement of my teachers and doctors, I began practicing restorative yoga. Through patience, discipline, and a commitment to wellness, I slowly dropped back into awareness of my body. The healing process was not linear—it was a journey of patience and self-discovery.

In a beautiful, full-circle moment, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2024. This is where the idea for Glissare came to me. I realized I could combine my love for the harp—a centuries-old vibrational tool used for healing and stress relief—with my work as a yoga teacher.

Nothing brings me more joy than seeing my students melt into their mats and find a moment of peace in our busy days, and I will be forever grateful for their trust in me to facilitate.

I can't wait to see you on the mat,

♡ Maggie
